Oh, for the love of whip…
Perhaps it seems odd to think that a marriage of whipped cream and hippie culture could even be a thing, but really they are super similar.
When you think about whipped cream experiences as a child, what are your memories? How would you describe them? Words like fun, love, freedom, peace, family, outside, and adventure come to mind. These are also key principles of the hippie, so why not combine the two for an amazing experience!
What is a hippie?
A hippie is a counterculture movement that began in the 60s and 70s in the United States. It has morphed many times over the following four decades, but usually remains true to several tenants: peace, love, freedom, living life to its fullest, and seeking universal truths.
Really it’s a question that has no answer. During the original movement hundreds of thousands of people defined “hippie” their own way, often in discussions under the influence of mind-altering substances, which caused even more chaos in narrowing down a definition. There were even debates about what a hippie was and wasn’t.
In the end, throughout the years what a hippie is and represents may always be completely fluid, as the person using the term will often have a subjective and completely different meaning than anyone who is listening to them, meaning that even two people in a discussion may be actually defining it differently because of how ambiguous and subjective it’s become.
For the sake of this article we’ve chosen to define a hippie as: a person who evaluates the moral attitudes of an established society and pursues love, peace, and harmony, and stands for freedom from anything that would stand against these basic principles.
How is Hippie Whippy™ different from other companies?
Honestly, every company out there selling N2O is going to be very similar. The main differences are company culture, how the product is created and handled, and what is done with the revenue.
Hippie Whippy™ is different from the “competition” in that we source from the purest and least environmentally destructive N2O available. We also seek the most environmentally friendly means of production and distribution, keeping a small footprint and using as much recyclable materials as possible to protect the planet and animals. Finally, whenever possible we give back into the community. Whether it be by partnering with independent businesses whenever possible, promoting community and sustainability.
Really it’s about freedom and love: Freedom to use our N2O to create the healthiest and most enviro-friendly experiences possible, and promoting love to those around us in every aspect of life and cooking. Living to the fullest correctly is very important to us.
Are you hippies?
Of course, the term hippie is very fluid and subjective. Everyone has their own idea of what it means. This can lead to a lot of confusion depending on each person’s interpretation.
We at Hippie Whippy™ just live the culture, we don’t really define or worry about it. Even if all employees don’t call themselves a “hippie”, we all agree on the basic tenets of love, peace, harmony and community. And we work hard to try and live the dream every day.
What is a hippie whippy?
With the current state of artificial food out there, one way to keep it real and natural is to add the ingredients yourself. Nitrous oxide makes for a great gas that has been used for years to produce world class whipped cream.
A “hippie whippy” is a whipped cream experience that’s made with clean gas and natural ingredients to produce food that’s healthy, fun, and made with love.
